Read the passage below carefully and answer the questions that follow:
Sometime ago, a Nigerian writer described crude oil as a black gold because
it has become as precious as pure gold, Oil is the main source of energy in the world
today. Without it, factories cannot manufacture Essential goods, vehicles cannot
run and cooking may be difficult for urban dwellers.
Nigeria is blessed with substantial crude oil deposits, Oil alone provides over
80% of Nigeria's revenue. But unfortunately, in recent past, oil stated to yield less
money because of what is commonly called 'oil glut, that is to say, more oil is being
produced than buyers of oil can, or are prepared to buy. One reason for this
reluctance to buy is that there is a general economic recession in the world. Another
reason is that many of the industrialized countries that use oil have already reserved
enough quantities to last them for years. Nigeria is not the only country exporting oil,
OPEC countries like Saudi Arabia and Venezuela produce more oil for world market
than Nigeria.
